Potato stocks in Idaho on February 1, 2023 totaled 64.5 million cwt. Disappearance of the Idaho crop to date was 56.2 million cwt. February 1 potato stocks in Oregon totaled 13.1 million cwt. Disappearance to date was 11.8 million cwt. In Washington, February 1 potato stocks totaled 38.0 million cwt. Disappearance to date totaled 52.4 million cwt.

Nationally, the 13 major potato States held in storage on February 1, 2023 totaled 192 million cwt, down 3 percent from February 1, 2022. Potatoes in storage accounted for 49 percent of the 2022 production, up 1 percent from the same period a year earlier. The indicated season to date disappearance, at 200 million cwt, was down 5 percent from the same period last year. Season to date shrink and loss, at 15.3 million cwt, was down slightly from the same time last year.

Processors in Idaho used 35.3 million cwt of potatoes for the season. Malheur County, Oregon used 5.20 million cwt of potatoes for the season. The combined Idaho and Malheur County, Oregon usage was down 3 percent from February l, 2022.

In Washington, 34.0 million cwt of potatoes had been used by processors for the season. In the other
parts of Oregon, 16.1 million cwt of potatoes had been processed. The combined Washington and other Oregon usage was up 1 percent from the previous year.

Processors in the 8 States used 112 million cwt of potatoes for the season, down 2 percent from February 2022.
