T-L Irrigation Co. now offers linear irrigation systems with GPS navigation capabilities. The technology eliminates the need for buried wires, aboveground cables or furrows for guidance.
The system features Real Time Kinematic (RTK) guidance, which allows for sub-inch accuracy. It tracks multiple satellite constellations to reduce signal loss caused by obstacles and eliminate electronic interference from power lines, according to the company. The GPS linear system can store up to four different paths for T-L towable Ultra Linear Systems or T-L pivoting linear systems. It can also store up to nine intermediate waypoints for added accuracy of the machine’s movement.
