In April 2001, Bart Connors was on the cover of Potato Country magazine and said the National Potato Promotion Board was “moving in the right direction.” The board was “re-inventing the potato.” Today the renamed board is going on the marketing offensive.
Also, Tiger Woods won the 65th Masters Golf Tournament shooting 272 and the Mars Odyssey was launched, leading to the potential that potatoes may one day be grown on Mars.
