The Idaho Potato Commission (IPC) never stops marketing to build awareness for an already iconic brand, the Idaho potato. New programs like French fry-scented perfume and retro black license plates have joined their traditional advertising that includes the Big Idaho Potato Truck and national sports sponsorships like the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.

Smaller, local sports venues also see their marketing efforts. On July 2, 2025, IPC spearheaded “Potato Night” for the local pro baseball team in Idaho Falls, the Chukars.

Everything was potato-themed, including a mashed potato eating contest, baked potato volleyball, a potato sack race and another race featuring King Tot, the IPC-sponsored mascot for the Idaho Falls Spud Kings, a minor-league hockey team.
