Lamb Weston permanently closed its French fry plant in Connell, Washington, on Sept. 30. The closure came after the company announced its results for the first quarter of fiscal 2025 and updated its full year earnings targets for fiscal 2025. According to the company, restaurant traffic and frozen potato demand, relative to supply, continue to be soft and will remain soft through the remainder of fiscal 2025. In addition to closing the plant in Connell, Lamb Weston is temporarily curtailing some production lines and schedules in its other plants.
