A farmer in India is using paddy straw for his potato seed beds. With help from the International Potato Center, Dilip Baral, said he has cut water usage by 80% and has not had to remove weeds manually. Another benefit of using paddy straw is Dilip no longer burns the stubble in his field.
Paddy straw, also called rice straw, is the waste stalk from rice paddies.
