Purdue Center for Commercial Ag to Host Free Ag Outlook Webinar

webinar

Purdue University’s Center for Commercial Agriculture will host a free agricultural outlook webinar at 12:30 p.m. EDT Friday (May 15).

The webinar will feature an updated agricultural outlook, including information from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s release Tuesday (May 12) of the world agricultural supply and demand estimates. Additionally, the webinar will feature updated profitability estimates for corn and soybeans as a result of the COVID-19 global pandemic.

“As COVID-19 continues to disrupt U.S. food distribution and marketing, it is critical that we look ahead at the implications in order to manage risk and improve profitability for 2020 and 2021,” said James Mintert, professor and director of the Center for Commercial Agriculture. “All eyes are on crop and livestock supply and demand as producers are faced with weak prices for major agricultural commodities, leading to severe financial pressure on many farming operations.”

Joining Mintert on the webinar will be Michael Langemeier, professor and associate director of the Center for Commercial Agriculture. Registration is free on the Center for Commercial Agriculture’s website (link below). Registered participants will receive a confirmation email with a link to view the webinar live at its scheduled time. Those unable to join live can register to receive a follow-up email after the webinar to download the slides and view the recording at their convenience.
