Fertilizer-Compatible Insecticide Receives Registration

Growers have a new tool to combat foliar insects in potatoes. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has registered Averland FC for use in Idaho, Colorado, North Dakota and Wisconsin. Registrations in additional states might come next year.

The product is the newest addition to Vive Crop Protection’s fertilizer-compatible product lineup and can be mixed with micronutrients and other chemistry in a foliar application including chemigation.

The active ingredient, abamectin, helps control Colorado potato beetles, leafminers, potato psyllids and spider mites.
