The British company Airponix, claims its new technology that grows potatoes in water will produce up to 50 times more yield than soil-grown potatoes, while at the same time using 85% less water.

The system uses an innovative fog generation system which utilizes an industrial ink jet print-head to produce up to 160 million droplets of every second, with very little energy consumption and no moving parts. It is highly reliable and expected to last a minimum 3 years.
