The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is seeking nominees to fill 56 producer and two importer member seats on the National Potato Promotion Board. USDA will appoint individuals to succeed members whose terms expire Feb. 28, 2019.

Potato producers in various states submit nominations for producer members and potato importers nominate importer members. Nominations for these seats are due to the board by July 1, 2018. For more information about nominations, contact Potatoes USA Executive Administrator Carrie Brown at (303) 369-7783 or carrie@potatoesusa.com.

The National Potato Promotion Board is industry-funded and supports the domestic and international marketing and promotion of U.S. potatoes. Since 1966, Congress has authorized 22 industry-funded research and promotion boards to provide a framework for agricultural industries to pool their resources and combine efforts to develop new markets, strengthen existing markets and conduct important research and promotion activities. USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) provides oversight, paid for by industry assessments, which helps ensure fiscal accountability and program integrity.

More information about the board is available on the AMS National Potato Promotion Board page and at PotatoesUSA.com or by contacting AMS Marketing Specialist Kelly Robertson at (202)720-4818 or Kelly.Robertson@ams.usda.gov.
