In the May/June 2006 issue, Potato Country had Dr. Andy Jensen on the cover. Before he was writing insect quizzes for us, he was (and still is) a major researcher for the Washington State Potato Commission.
The feature is about his past and how he came to be involved with potatoes. At the time of the article, tuberworms were becoming a major issue for the Columbia Basin. “Certainly the tuberworm problem came as a surprise,” he acknowledged at the time. He continues to be an important ally in the battle against bugs, and we’re glad that he continues to challenge us with a new quiz every issue.
