Macro Plastics is introducing its new MacroBin 29. Weighing in at 63 pounds, the bin is designed to be lightweight yet strong and durable. The bin’s special geometry and shape create a “bruise buffer zone” and help keep walls from bulging, which protects produce from side impact, according to the company. The bin is also said to be highly ventilated to maximize airflow.
Made from FDA-approved plastic, the bins interlock when stacked for increased safety. And with residual value factored in, the cost is comparable to wood bins.
