It’s April. For our latest trip down memory lane, we present to you the April 2004 Potato Country cover. In this issue, we had a story about Jim Bryan. He was involved with potatoes his entire life and became one of the first area extension potato specialists.

By the time the article was written, he had retired and was spending his time collecting stamps and postcards related to potatoes. Bryan says he “started off collecting stamps, then stemmed to postcards and any paper products.” Nowadays we can send a message directly printed onto a potato. Who knows what people will have in their collections in another 100 years?
